2004 was an amazing year for technology and space travel.
On September 29 Mike Melville took the first flight in which the Rutan designed
Spaceship One rolled 29 times on the way up and he didn't even get sick!
Then on October 4, Brian Binnie piloted Spaceship One to victory to win
the Ansari X-Prize. They were the first to loft a privately funded and designed
aircraft into space and land safely twice within 14 days. Richard Branson
has licensed their technology and intends to make space travel consumer
friendly by 2008! Our team salutes Burt and his brave and talented team
at Scaled Composites, LLC for their
accomplishment in song!
